Our luxury hotel barge offers guests the very best holiday afloat available. We thought it would be fun to create a ‘Bill of Rights’ as a ‘Great Charter’ of our own.

Although this is only meant to be a light-hearted exercise, the crew and I believe in giving the finest possible service, and we hope we can adapt to the needs of all our guests and look forward to welcoming you.

‘We, the owners and crew of the Magna Carta, commit ourselves and our ship to the following guest charter.All guests aboard will be expected to do no work for the duration of the cruise and will be treated like family. They shall be able to relax completely and let all stresses from everyday life disappear.

Our master chef will create every meal fresh and all dietary needs will be catered for. We will serve fine wines with all meals and endeavour to enlighten our guests with an introduction to each wine and cheese that we serve.

While cruising, guests shall not be confined to sitting on the Italian leather sofas in the saloon or the beautiful hardwood furniture of the sun deck. Should our guests prefer to bubble away in the spa-pool accompanied by a chilled glass of champagne, then this is their choice.

We reserve the right to add extra value to our cruises. We may in fact include an additional tour, over and above those outlined in our itineraries, or really ‘push the boat out’ if we find that a guest is celebrating a special anniversary while aboard.

We hereby guarantee that the river will be stunningly beautiful and that each day’s cruising will bring new delight. The scenery will continually change and wildlife will abound. I and my crew will endeavour to enlighten you with tales and gossip, stories of history and intrigue and generally make your cruise aboard Magna Carta one that will remain in your memories for years to come.’
